Top-level Violin Studio in Tokyo – Introduction to Kunito Int’l String School

Welcome to the Kunito Int’l String School (KISS), a top-tier violin school nestled in the serene surroundings of Nerima’s Shakuji Park in Tokyo. Founded in 2011 by Kunito Nishitani, a violinist who returned from the United States, KISS has been a beacon of exceptional violin and music education.

At KISS, we offer a broad spectrum of learning experiences, serving everyone from absolute beginners to accomplished graduates of music universities. Our learning environment is vibrant with international diversity, reflecting the cosmopolitan character of Tokyo.

Our teaching methods incorporate flexible and internationally recognized approaches that resonate with our motto, “Enjoy and immerse yourself, and before you know it, you’ve improved!” This mantra has fueled our passionate and precise lessons, leading to KISS being filled to capacity within three years and growing into a popular school with a constant waiting list.

In 2014, we expanded our offering by introducing conducting classes and ensemble (chamber music) lessons. We also took a stride in the global direction, frequently hosting master classes taught by renowned professors and performers from overseas.

KISS students have consistently achieved remarkable success at various competitions and auditions, including the All Japan Junior Classic Music Competition and the Japan Classic Music Competition, where our school has received numerous Excellent Instructor Awards.

Embracing digital transformation, we initiated online lessons for international students in Germany and Indonesia in 2019. We also proudly participated in the Karuizawa Music Festival in 2020 and hosted our own music festival in 2021.

At KISS, we employ the “Kunito Violin Method”, a series of four books that reached number one in Amazon’s bestseller ranking. This method allows us to establish our unique pedagogical approach.

Our activities extend beyond the classrooms, with collaboration with organizations like Shakujii Int’l Orchestra, Kunito Int’l Youth Orchestra, Shimokura Violin, and Carmina Strings.

Kunito Nishitani, the head of Kunito Int’l String School, proudly asserts, “The camaraderie between teachers and students, the cheerful atmosphere brimming with laughter, the fun, and the high-level positivity – we are first-class! Being such an ideal school is our greatest pride.”

Kunito Int’l String School is a Tokyo-based violin studio where violinist Kunito Nishitani integrates American teaching methods. Our unique approach combines international perspectives with fun-filled lessons.

Come, join us and become a part of our joyful, vibrant community, where you can master the art of violin while having fun!
